Sucessful fishing

Another post for today, I'm doing well. We took the boys fishing late this afternoon, making the most of school holidays. And I had to show a picture of Warren with the big dhu fish he caught. Was pretty exciting for him as it was the first time out fishing in his new boat. The boys also caught some smaller fish, probably not suitable for eating, which we threw back. Was heaps of fun and the boys can't wait to go out again!!

Bike riding to the Jetty

This morning, the boys and I went for a bike ride to the Busselton Jetty. Tyson & Liam got new bikes for their birthday, so since then I've been wanting to go along the beach path. It's a good 20minutes one way and they managed quite well with their little legs. Had a few stops along the way; the boys always get distracted by the scenery and want to have a look. It was a fun morning and we will have to do that again soon, especially with this gorgeous weather we've been having.

Enjoying the second last day of school holidays - 'sigh'

Tyson & Liam are SIX!!

Tyson & Liam were six yesterday. Wow, my babies are six. We had a very fun day of celebrating and the boys loved every minute. From breakfast with family and friends, a bouncy castle, lots of presents, to having dinner at the beach; it was a busy day.

Opening some presents in the morning.
The birthday cake make by 'us' with lots of chocolate frogs, as Tyson & Liam love frogs, chocolate ones and live ones.
Liam happily posing with his birthday cake.
Tyson looking a bit sad, not too sure about having his picture taken and everyone singing happy birthday.
Fun times on the bouncy castle.

Playing on the beach with cousin Byron. These three always have fun together.

So that was another birthday gone. We are sure the next year with our lovely boys will be just as much fun. And it will be even more fun and memorable with the arrival of our fourth child. We are expecting a baby mid-August, the Lord willing. We hope and pray it all goes well. The boys are very excited and asking heaps of questions. So it will be nice for them to go thru the journey with us as well.
We will be enjoying the last of school holidays this week. Then it's back to routine again. So hopefully next week I can get back into scrapbooking and card-making. I haven't been doing much of that during the holidays. But with the kids home and such nice warm weather for the beach, I haven't really been able. So look out for some new posts soon. Take care.

Best Barcodes.

Best Barcodes is the name of the stamp set I've used for this card. Sometimes it's fun making a card with a different fold. So here goes my little explaination with photo's!!

Here I've scored Whisper White cardstock a little over 5cm from each side and then folded the card inwards so both edges meet.

I've made this embellishment which will sit on the front of the finished card. The little tag has been stamped with Best Barcodes. I've cut out and matted onto Whisper White, DP Loves Me and Pretty in Pink. The corners have been rounded with corner rounder punch. I've set an eyelet in the corner and tied some grosgrain ribbon to it. Then it's been finished off by using the circle punch to cut out a flower from the DP Loves Me. I just love this paper.
The two seperate folds of the cards have been matted with Close to Cocoa cardstock on which I've stamped the flower from Sweet on You; another stamp set from the Summer mini. Using a small circle punch I've punch random from the DP again and put into the centre of each flower.
Finally the embellishment has been adhered onto one of the panels of the card, so that it can open up. Here are two pictures of the finished card to give you an idea how both panels fold out.

Card Recipe:
Stamp set: Best Barcodes, Sweet on You
Cardstock: Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, DP Loves Me
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner rounder, Circle punches, Dimensionals.

First card for the year...

Finally, my first creation for the year. I managed to sit down today and come up with this card. First I have to say, I was totally inspired by a card I saw, colour and design. So I've cased it and come up with my own card. The original card is from Kendra (Inkin It Up) http://inkinitupwithkendra.blogspot.com/2008/01/happy-friday-happy-cupcake-day-its.html

All of the stamps and DP are from our new Summer Mini Catalogue. Lots of fun stuff to play around with. I wouldn't normally use these colours, but they look great together.
I've stamped the heart picture onto Whisper White and then punched out using the circle punch. The heart has been cut out and then raised with dimensionals. Then I've added some glitter. (not easy to see in the picture) I've matted onto Real Red using a Scallop punch. The corners have been punched using the smallest circle punch from SU. The card has been finished off with ribbon and the sentiment. A perfect card for someone you love or Valentines Day!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet on You, Small Sayings
Cardstock: Real Red, Pink Passion, DP - Loves me, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Ribbon (non-SU), Scallop punch (non-SU), Blender Pen with Ink Pads, Glitter, Dimensionals.

Ngilgi Cave

Yesterday we went to Ngilgi cave, located near Yallingup. This is a limestone cave and has a number of chambers you can explore, including a 'fun' tunnel for the kids to go thru. The boys had a great time and were very in awe of it all. It's a beautiful cave and well worth a look.

Holidays pictures

I'm finally back to blogging after a few weeks of holidaying and relaxing with family and friends. For the Christmas week, we went to Donnelly River, in the middle of the bush, with all the Huizenga's. Here are some random pictures of the week:

Our holiday cottage surrounded by wildlife.
Liam patting and feeding the kangaroos and emus.

The Donnelly River Village surroundings.

Family poses.

Donnelly River dam which we used to cool down
on the very hot days we had.
Tyson feeding some very eager kangaroos
Kyle with his counsin Brandan
Cooling off on Boxing Day - over 40 degrees.

Kids having an absolute ball together. All the cousins had a great time, enjoying each others company. It will be a holiday to remember.
