autumn

Some pictures of Caden on our recent camping trip - I've used them for a challenge over at the Artastic Inspiration Challenge blog - using the autumn painting as inspiration, you need to create a LO - some other criterea is including clouds and trees.
I got a little creative with some paper (Basic Grey), punches, cardboard and hessian - and made my own trees.  Inspired by the colours of the painting, I've created an autumn scene.
Here are some close-up's of the details:

A chipboard cloud from Stuff 2 Scrap, covered in pattern paper and lightly sanded; also some fimo clouds from the Chip-Chop Shop!
Pattern paper is from Basic Grey - Green at Heart - this paper pad had the perfct autumn colours.  I've added in extra bits like buttons and a bottle top using the same paper.
Title using letters by American Crafts, paper roses and twine.  I've also recycled old sewing patterns and used them in the background.

This challenge runs til the end of the month - I really enjoyed putting this one together - it was great to have inspiration from a painted picture - I'm looking forward to seeing what the next challenge will be!

Hope you are all enjoying Easter and the holidays - happy crafting.

you love sand

I have lots of awesome beach pictures of my kids - we live less than five minutes from the beach so there's plenty of opportunity.  But I really love these ones that I captured of my youngest - this is what he loves to do best at the beach - just play with the sand.
I've used these pics to make a LO using the April Sketch at Handmade By Suzanne - another great sketch by Michelle Fowler.  Loved using this one alot and for once, I've used pattern paper as the base.
Here are some close-up's of the details:

Some buttons - the large one is made from fimo which I've made - I have a thing for layering buttons lately!!
another little embellishment - i've attached some star shapes and a button to a small pick - some American Craft letters - a ruffled vintage book print heart.
And here is the sketch if you would like to have a go yourself!  You will notice that I've flipped this sketch to the side.

Ok, that's my share for today - thanks for coming by.

adventures

This picture was taken a year ago - I've always loved it so much as both boys were not aware that I was taking the picture - they are busy looking at something whilst hanging over this wall.  The latest challenge over at Let's Get Shabby - to be inspired by the characters from Beatrix Potter - was the perfect opportunity to use it.  I have a Beatrix Potter book and Peter Rabbit buttons - yay - I can finally use them!
I think the little kittens are so cute - they have so much fun and get up to mischief - reminds my of my boys!
Here's some close-up's of the details:

I've cut out some of the pictures from the story book - one matches the photo quite well with the kittens peering over the wall!  And I couldn't miss out using a Peter Rabbit button which I got from Lil Red Rocket some time ago.
I've added in some roses and leaves and made a bunting with paper punches and twine.
Letters are by American Crafts and Adornit - love these little letters and one sheets lasts for ages!  I've used a Tim Holtz mask and glimmer-mist for the background.

I must say that I really enjoyed putting this one together........ and I've squeezed it thru just in time as the challenge finishes tommorow night.
Thanks for coming by and happy crafting.

a great moment

This would have to be one of my favourite pictures from our Summer holidays - my four boys together, having fun on the beach!  I've used this photo for a challenge over at Once Upon a ......Sketch
A sketch has been provided and you need to include hand-written journalling, as least 25 words long.

I've used papers from Bella Blvd.  My background is some glimmer-misting over a plastic doily.  Love this effect.  Here's some close-up's of the details:
Another one of those rosette flowers - this one I made myself using my Scor-Pal - I've simply added a button to the centre.  You may be seeing lots of these - they are fun and easy to make.  But if you have the Tim Holtz die, well that would be even easier!!
We also have some chipboard from Stuff 2 Scrap - these are the beach huts designed by Leeann Pearce.  I've also added in one of her Fimo sun faces - how cute!
These cute clouds have been cut out from the pattern paper - I've added in a button, birdie pin and white doily!

And here is the sketch if you would like to have a go yourself.
Ok, so that's it from me for a week or so - tommorow the kids finish school for the term and we are off camping - fun, fun, FUN.
Thanks for coming by and the lovely comments I receive - I appreciate them all and love reading them.  Til next time..... happy crafting.

really fun

Learning to ride a trike is a bit tricky but really fun - I love this series of pictures that I took of my Caden!  This LO is for the latest challenge at 123Challenge.  It's been set by the amazing Jasmine Shea with the following requirements:
COLOUR: LIME GREEN
WORD: REALLY
TECHNIQUE/PRODUCT: FABRIC

Here are some close-up's of the details:

a cluster of embellies - a fabric flower made by me, a birdie button from my Etsy shop and a rosette flower from my good friend Leeann - once assembled, I've added a fimo flower.
Lot of lime green - pattern paper and doily lace from Basic Grey - I've also added in some lace trims from my stash.
My title from foam letters and the word 'really'.

Wow, such a fun challenge - thanks Jasmine.

Always

This LO doesn't have a main title, but I've used a meaningful word stamp: always on my mind, forever in my heart.
I created this LO, with it's bright colours and assorted bits for the Aussie Scrap Source Challenge - the latest make it yourself challenge was to use transparencies.  I actually had quite a few sheets laying around, so it was good to make them useful.

For this challenge, I've used rubber stamps and paint - firstly, I've arranged some clear rubber stamps on an acrylic block, then using a paint brush, I've covered the stamps in paint - then simply press onto the transparency - I've repeated this process for the whole strip.

Here's some close-up's of the details:

I've used the transparency as an overlay for the photo.
And I've made a bright wheel flower from the Tim Holtz rosette die - thanks Leeann - these are so much fun to make up.

A little heart bunting - I've been using Helmar products for my scrap LO's - the 450 quick dry and some of the silicon adhesive to add height - and I'm loving how quick they make your pages come together.
I've also made a small tag overlay with some stamped images and the wording.

Thanks for another fabulous challenge Aussie Scrap Source - I'm looking forward to more after the holiday break.

a magic moment

This really was a magic moment - Caden got the biggest sand-bomb that someone had ever made and you can really see the delight and excitment in his expressions.  So cute - my wonderful sister captured  these pics fun of him!
I've used these pics for the latest challenge at Bird is the Word - a fun challenge site that uses words as inspiration - love this idea!!  If you can't already guess - the word is 'Magic'.
I've used papers from October Afternoon and Kaisercraft with lots of fun embellishments.
Here's some close-up's:

A cute balloon from the Chip-Chop Shop - and I've been having my own fun with Fimo too - making the flowers and clouds.

Not too many 'white' spaces left on this LO, but I'm loving it - I think using the multiple photo's, you tend to cover the whole page.
Thanks for a fun challenge and thanks for coming by.
