Simple Stories 24/Seven - The Scrapbook Store

Hello - I have one last page to share with you this month using Simple Stories - 24/Seven collection for The Scrapbook Store - this collection has been wonderful to work with and is also really versatile as you could see in my pages - lots of different ways to work with it ☺

I'm using a recent photo of us (hubby & I) taken at a wedding in February of this year - always a good place to get a nice photo taken ☺
For my base paper I have used this 12x12 pattern paper - Everyday which has a lovely subtle chevron patter.  I've also used one of the 'oh so cute'  Sn@p pockets - here are some close-up's:
... a close up of the Sn@p pocket with a chipboard sticker on the front - I love camera embellishments!!  - I've also used another chipboard sticker on the shipping tag in the pocket ...
... here are some of the cute letters from the 12x12 Expressions Cardstock Stickers ...  the little camera stamp is by Bo Bunny ...
... a Prima trinket with a brad to the centre ...  these have been so fun to work with and I've now used the whole pack - time to order some more ☺ ...

I hope the 24/Seven collection has you running to The Scrapbook Store ☺☺  There's lots more goodies in store and you still have time to enter the monthly sketch challenge too.
Have a wonderful Anzac Day!!

The Studio Challenges - Masks & Stencils

Hello and happy Monday - it's school holidays here for two weeks ☺We have a few things planned which include a little camping trip too - hopefully the weather stays a bit fine as it's starting to get a bit cooler here now.
I'm just popping in to share the latest challenge at The Studio Challenges - we have a very fun challenge to use Masks & Stencils - you can see so much of this around the place at the moment.
Here's what I've come up with:

this page is out for publication ☺

I'm using a picture of my oldest - he didn't really like this photo but I like it and it's a very recent one too - he has that pensive look - would love to know what he's thinking.  He's nearing on 14 so I'm really not sure how often I'm going to be able to snap pictures of him ☺
Anyway, I've left it quite simple, wanting to focus on the texture that I've created using a CW stencil - Bingo - here are some close-up's:
I sprayed the background with a light blue mist from October Afternoon, then used texture paste with the stencil to create a border effect around the photo.  I've also done some stamping (as I always tend to do ☺)
The little faux flair button is made using a stamp from Give a Girl a ==== Keen as Mustard.
The little letters are Teeny Alpha's by Glitz Designs

Here's another view - I'm loving the Pink Paislee Artisan Chipboard Arrows - arrows are just so cool and are all around the place.  Have added in some washi tape under the photo and a few of the enamel dots for some added colour.

Please check out The Studio Challenges blog and see more inspiration from the other Design Team Members - it's a fun challenge and we would love to see you join in ☺
Thanks for coming by!!

April 1 Stuck Sketches - Happy birthday

Hello again ☺  I recently got the 8x8 paper pad Glitz Design - Colour Me Happy collection - and have been have so much 'fun' with the gorgeous patterns and bright colours.  So I went back through some photo's of earlier this year and found this one of my twin boys on their birthday which I hadn't even scrapped yet :(
I've used the April 1 Stuck Sketch for this page:

So lots of Glitz Design on this one as well as some cute things from Greatest View and stamps by Give a Girl a ...
Here are some close-up's:
... cute chevron bag, badge and ribbon from Greatest View...
... the wording is a sticker from this collection - and the title uses Teeny Alpha's also by Glitz ...
... I've also added in a little wood veneer by studio Calico ...

Here is the sketch if you wish to be inspired:

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a big thank you to those that pop by here to check out my work - it's much appreciated and I hope in some small way, you feel a little inspired ♥

Simple Stories DT Kit - The Scrapbook Store

Happy Friday!!  Happy because it's the last day of Term and we now have a two week break to enjoy.  I love school holidays - the routines are more relaxed and a lot of the time we take off camping for a bit ☺  We plan to camp in the second week; very much looking forward to that ☺
Today I'm sharing another page using Simple Stories - 24/Seven collection.
Lately, I've been very interested in Project Life and the whole idea behind it - it's growing on me ☺
So I decided to do a Project Life 'style' page using this collection:

A lot of the papers in this collection have the perfect size journalling/quote cards - you simply add photo's, some journalling and a few embellishments.  I like the idea of recording every day moments - I'm a big 'phone photo taker' and Instagram user, so I would love to be able to record all these moments that happen in our life.
Here are a few close-up's:

... I've used stickers from Expressions Cardstock Stickers - the words and titles are perfect to add next to photo's ...
... I've also used some of the little chipboard stickers ...
... for my journalling I've used my trusty typewriter ...

You can check out all the amazing papers and accessories from this collection at The Scrapbook Store.
Thanks for coming by.

Live for Adventure - LifePaperScrapbook Sketch #3

So even though it's been a little 'crazy busy' around here, I've still managed to play along with a challenge this month - something I really would love to do more off.
This page is for the Sketch #3 at LifePaperScrapbook - I've been enjoying their sketch challenges and am quickly sneaking this one in before it closes ☺

I have flipped the sketch over to the side as it worked better with these photo's of my youngest - he loves being busy and active ☺
I've used papers by Glitz Designs - Colour Me Happy collection  - this truly is a very happy collection and has to be one of my favs - I just LOVE the patterns and colours.
So practically all the papers and stickers are by Glitz and I've also done some stamping using a cute stamp set that I just received from Give a Girl a .. Keen as Mustard stamp set. I'm loving the little words and arrows ☺
Here are some close-up's:
... I made this faux flair using the Keen as Mustard stamp set and an epoxy dot - too cute!!
... journalling from my typewriter and another stamp- this time using the arrow ...
... this is another paper collection with fabulous words and titles - it brings your page together so easy ...  also more stamping with the stamp set ... love my stamping ☺
And here is the sketch to work with:
Thanks to Manda from LifePaperScrapbook for another great sketch - check out their blog HERE!

Simple Stories DT Kit - The Scrapbook Store

Hello - I'm finally getting a chance to share another page from my DT Kit for The Scrapbook Store - this month I've been working with Simple Stories - 24/Seven collection.  End of term always seems so busy - I am really looking forward to the two week school holiday break we have coming up☺
So here is a page of my four beautiful boys:
I love this Yellow Chevron paper from the collection and knew I wanted it as a base for one of my pages.  This is the double sided 12x12 paper - Hello.  I've used another pocket as these are just so cute!! A great little embellishment all on their own.  I've also used some of The Scrapbook Store chipboard.
Here are some close-up's:

... this is the Penny Farthing chipboard from TSS - I've distressed a little with a stamp and ink ... also a handmade embellishment - a crochet flower from my stash ...
... this sits on one of the Sn@p Pockets ...
... for my title I've used the Expressions cardstock stickers from this collection - the red letters have been adhered to white cardstock, then I've cut each letter out and attached to the page ...
... I love all the words and titles in this collection - there are so many!!  So many of the sticker elements can be made into little tags like this one above ...

I will still have a few more pages to share from this wonderful collection.  In the meantime, you can view all the yummy products at The Scrapbook Store - there are many new things coming in all the time.

Simple Stories - DT Kit for The Scrapbook Store

My design team kit from The Scrapbook Store is Simple Stories - the 24/seven collection. This is what I will be creating with for the month of April ☺  WOW, I love it - so many great patterns on the papers and the embellishments are really cool.  I love that there are so many sticker words and titles.
This is another of those collections that would be great for Project Life, Smash Journals or your 12x12 scrap pages!
Here's my first page that I created:

So many of my pages feature my youngest little man, but he's around me the most and he has the most adorable little face.  I love the happiness in this picture ☺
I've used many of the different elements in this collection - here are some close-up's:

... this is one of the Sn@p Pockets - I've attached a chipboard sticker and also a manilla shipping tag ... you can also see a few more of the chipboard sticker elements scattered across the page ...

... as you can see I used lots of chipboard stickers - they bring your page together very easily ...
 ... I love this arrow paper ♥ ...
Some extra little bits that I've added in to the background is stamping - a script stamp and a star stamp.

So that is my first page - I will have plenty more to share from this fabulous collection - in the meantime, please check The Scrapbook Store to view the entire collection - and I believe lots more gorgeous goodies just entered the store today - must be shopping time ☺

The Studio Challenges - ......... and this is love

Hello and happy Monday ☺  Another new week - I always love the start of the week - feeling refreshed after a relaxing weekend.
I'm sharing the new challenge over at The Studio Challenges today!!  I've set this challenge and decided to go with a colour challenge:
There are three main colours and you can use neutrals too ==  and if you want - be inspired by the yummy picture ☺

Here's what I've come up with :

this page is out for publication ☺

These precious moments were captured on camera by my sister at Aimee Claire Photography - the two girls in the photo's are my nieces ☺
I really wanted the colours to pop off the page and also compliment the photo's at the same time.  So I've used a white background, adding in some texture but also keeping that white.  I've gone through my stash to gather coloured cardstock and then added in flowers and embellishments to complete.   Here are some close up's:

... pretty flowers by Prima and also a Prima metal trinket with a brad to the center ...

... a cluster of flowers and typewriter journalling ... I've used a 12x12 stencil and added in texture to the background using texture magic ...

... little letters by Glitz Designs ...

... and another view of the stencil work - I love the effect of white on white ...

Please pop over to The Studio Challenge blog and check out all the details of this challenge as well as sponsors and inspiration from the Design Team.  We hope you can play along ☺
Thanks for coming by!!

crochet ripple blanket

Today I'm sharing something other than scrapbooking.  It's a crochet project I've been working on for the past five weeks or so.  I joined in with the #ripplealong at One Crafty Mumma.  I have been very good at starting crochet projects but never finishing them.  Joining in with this challenge has been so good, especially seeing as I actually finished this one.  And I really enjoyed learning this ripple stitch - it's so easy to do and is such an effective pattern.
I've used this pattern from Meet Me at Mikes to get started with my ripple blanket, using four different colours, adding white between each row.  I love how the white has really made the colours stand out.
I used a size 5 crochet hook which has made for a slightly looser knit and used Magnum Acrylic Yarn 8ply.
This blanket is the perfect size to use as a 'couch blanket', to keep warm at night when reading or watching your favourite TV show ☺  One of my boys has already claimed this one and more orders have been placed by the other three☺
So I'm off to plan the next ripple blanket.  I still have quite a few balls of yarn in these colours so I'm going to be using them, adding in another colour or two.
Thanks to Mel from One Crafty Mumma for your fabulous inspiration.  It's been a pleasure to have joined in and also meet many other happy crocheting people ☺

White with 1 April Challenge - first day of Kindy

We are already a few days into April and have just finished a little Easter break with some gorgeous weather and relaxing days.  Was so good to have a little time off ☺  I'm just popping in to share the latest challenge at White with 1 - this month we have a sketch to follow as well as: White + Yellow
... and here is the sketch:

I love sketches as they are a really good start to getting your page going.  Here's what I've come up with:

I'm using this cute picture of my youngest who just started Kindy this year - always such a big step and special moment.  He has settled in so well and absolutely LOVES going ☺
I went through my stash of papers and embellishments and collected everything yellow!!  Here are some close-up's:

... I am loving the cute embellishments and products from Greatest View - here I have used a little chevron bag layered on top of a tag ...  also some typewriter words on a journal card ...

... another tag embellishment with some yellow twine ...

... these alphabet letters are Color Magic Chipboard Alpha's - they are white and I've sprayed over with Heidi Swapp Color Shine - Mustard - really fun to work with as you can make them any color you choose!! ... the little black letters are by Glitz Designs ...
... cute wood veneer bunting by Kaisercraft and Studio Calico ...

So that is my inspiration for this fabulous challenge!!  I hope you can join us this month - check out the blog for more designs from the Design Team and also our sponsors for this month.

Since Google Reader is closing down I've added in the Blog Lovin blinkie to my side bar if you want to follow me you can.  Although, when I signed up I noticed that I could import all of the blogs I follow, from Google to Blog Lovin - so that was rather easy and I don't have to re-follow all the blog I love and have loved over time ☺☺  And you get email updates of all the latest posts from your favorite blogs ☺
